Common questions about Microsoft 365 Business Basic
Can I keep my existing domain?
Yes. During onboarding we point your existing domain (for example yourbrand.com) to Microsoft 365. Email, website, and everything else keep working — we just add the email to Microsoft 365.
Do I get the desktop Word and Excel apps?
Not at the Basic tier — Basic includes the web and mobile Office apps only. For the full installable suite, choose Business Standard.
How many users can I add?
Up to 300 users per Microsoft 365 Business tenant. Organisations with more users move to Enterprise E3 or E5, which have no user limit.
Can I mix Basic with other plans?
Yes. Many customers put executives and finance on Business Standard or Premium while support stays on Basic. Plans can be swapped per user at any time.
